  1. How do I make a booking to hire your Sydney photography studio space?

  1. How much does it cost to hire additional equipment?
  2. All of our equipment can be hired as add-ons with studio hires. Unfortunately, under no circumstances can our equipment leave the premises of the studio space. To see our full list of equipment and prices please click here

 

  1. If I want to hire the studio multiple times, can I get discounted rates?
  2. Yes you can! We offer heavily discounted rates through our membership packages which are of great value for those that want regular access to our studio space. You can see our packages on the bottom of the page here

 

  1. How do I pay you?
  2. At the moment, we are only taking payments via direct bank transfer.

 

  1. When do I get my bond back?
  2. At the conclusion of your studio hire, the Studio Manager will inspect the space to determine the successful return of the space in the original hire condition. Once they are happy with the condition of the space, your bond will be deposited back into the bank account you specify with us.

 

  1. What if I want to use more equipment on the day of my hire and I haven’t paid for it? How do I go about that?
  2. If you decide you require additional equipment on the day of your hire, just let our staff know and they will give you access to what you need. We will record the additional equipment and take the additional charges out of your bond. In the case that your bond is not enough, we will issue a new invoice on the spot and require a transfer receipt for proof of payment.

 

  1. Will there be someone in the studio space while we are there?
  2. Yes, we will always have a member of staff in our studio space to unlock, and lock up after you, and to be there should you have any questions or if an issue arises. We have a separate office space for our staff, so that we can leave you to enjoy our studio space in peace.

 

  1. When do I get my bond back?
  2. At the conclusion of your studio hire, the Studio Manager will inspect the space to determine the successful return of the space in the original hire condition. Once they are happy with the condition of the space, your bond will be deposited back into the bank account you specify with us.
  1. What is included in the hire of the studio space?
  2. When you hire the studio, you get a basic lighting kit included, as well as tea and coffee (Nespresso Machine) facilities . The space itself includes the existing furniture such as chairs, lounge set, dining table, hair and makeup station, kitchenette, cyc, etc.

 

  1. What’s in your standard photography lighting set up?
  2. Our basic lighting kit consists of 2 x Elinchrom Strobe Heads, 2 x Light Stands, 2 x 66x66cm Softboxes, 1 x  Octabox and 1 x Trigger.

 

  1. I have a different brand of light system, will I still be able to use your lights too?
  2. Of course you can!! Our Elinchrom heads have a built in optical sensor, so if you  just want an extra light to add in your own mix, you can still trigger our lights off with your own light set up. Only thing is, you’ll have to use your legs to change the power level! (damn)

 

  1. How can I find out if the studio is available for the date and time I want?
  2. When you go to our ‘book online’ page you can actually see in real time if the date you want is available. For half day hires, if you select the morning slot and the date is unavailable, you can still try selecting the afternoon slot from the dropdown menu and check if there is still another availability for you desired date. Our studio operates on a first come first served basis, and bookings are not firm until full payment is made.

 

  1. Is there a lift to the studio?
  2. As we are located on Level 2, there is a heavy goods lift available in the loading dock for equipment only, so it is not a safe method for human transport. Unfortunately, because of this our studio is difficult to access for the disabled and wheelchair dependent.

 

  1. I have a TONNE of equipment, how can I access you Heavy Goods Lift?
  2. Our heavy good lift is accessible from our building’s Loading Dock which is located on 14 Curry Lane, Artarmon. It is a One Way street and you will see our signage on the right hand side. Please advise our staff if you intend to use this access, as we will have to operate the lift.

 

  1. Can we have Alcohol in the studio?
  2. Unfortunately we are not a licenced venue/business to allow any Alcohol on our premises, this includes BYO. We appreciate your understanding and compliance on this matter.

 

  1. Are there any car parks available?
  2. We have two reserved car parks undercover on 16 Whiting Street. The car spaces are numbered 16 & 17 with the business name Casa Xara on them. There is also free street parking available as well, however we do recommend that large crews try to car pool as we are located in a busy industrial state and parking during business hours can be tricky.
